Healing Rhythms

Lorie Askins is a former music educator and licensed professional counselor who is

trained in both drum circle leadership and evidenced based HealthRHYTHMS protocols.

She is a recent addition to the mental health outpatient therapy services at Tradewinds

Counseling Services in Edinboro and Blended Spirts Ranch’s equine assisted

Asbury University and a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Edinboro

University. She additionally has 20 years of experience working at Hermitage House

Youth Services, where she facilitated individual, family, and group therapy as well as

weekly therapeutic drumming for at risk youth.

Don’t miss out on a fun and healing hour of group drumming! Therapeutic drumming

has been used for thousands of years to promote healing, interpersonal connection, and

self-expression. Recent studies indicate drumming has been found to improve self-

esteem; decrease stress and blood pressure; increase immune response and elevate

mood and energy levels. Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed. Feel free

to bring a favorite drum, but a variety of rhythmic instruments will be provided.

Everyone has inner rhythm. Come find yours!

Suggested contribution of $10.
